The project deals with the design of two high-speed (180,000 rpm) electric machines. Two machines should be designed: an asynchronous motor and a permanent magnet synchronous motor. The advantages of the permanent magnet synchronous motor are better efficiency and power factor and smaller size. The main advantage of the asynchronous motor is its simple control. Functional samples of both designed machines will be produced before the project is completed. Measurements will be taken on the functional samples to verify the design. The measurement results will also be used as a basis for optimization of both designed machines.
